Meet Our Educators

Alice

Alice

Miss Alice started teaching during her third year at the University of Leeds, where she moved to Madrid for one year to work as a teaching assistant in a British school. Since then, she knew she loved working with children and gained a deep satisfaction out of being able to help them develop through their educational years. After graduating from university with an International Development degree in 2017, Miss Alice said goodbye to her family and friends and moved to Hong Kong to teach English and pursue her love of traveling and experiencing new cultures.

Holly

Holly

Miss Holly joined the Grace Garden team in May, 2018. She has been teaching English as a foreign language for over two years now. She began her career at a British nursey school in Abu Dhabi, working with children between the ages of two and four. Miss Holly has enjoyed working with children for over seven years now, from overseeing their care as an au pair to ensuring their comfort as an inflight nanny. She is an Irish national and has travelled to over thirty countries worldwide.

Maxine

Maxine

Miss Maxine was born and raised in South Africa. She studied Education at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and has since been teaching for the past 4 years at a primary school in Port Elizabeth. Miss Maxine is a kind-hearted teacher, who enjoys making each day special for the children.

Kaitlin

Kaitlin

Miss Kaitlin joined Grace Garden in 2017. She is from The United States. She studied at Oklahoma City University where she obtained a Bachelor’s. She strongly supports Early Childhood Education and makes her environment flexible to meet each child’s individual needs. She enjoys hugs from her little ones and wants them all to feel loved and supported.

Sarah

Sarah

Miss Sarah was born and raised in Mainland China, graduating from Central China’s normal University with a major in English. She’s been working with children for years and strongly believes good morals and independence are essential from an early age.

Chen

Chen

Miss Chen graduated from Sichuan International Studies University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and has completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Early Childhood Education) at the Education University of Hong Kong. After passing the National Proficiency Test of Putonghua (Mandarin), she took her skills to the classroom, gaining extensive experience over the last 5 years across International schools in Hong Kong and Guangzhou.

Amy

Amy

Miss Amy is a key member of our Pre-Kindergarten mandarin team at Grace Garden. She is a qualified professional in early childhood education from the Open University of Hong Kong, with a variety of other professional certifications including a Certification on Child-centered play therapy.

Rosemary

Rosemary

Miss Rosemary is from the friendly city of Port Elizabeth, South Africa. She has obtained her Bachelor Degree in Education from Nelson Mandela University as well as a TEFL certificate to aid in teaching English to non- English speaking children. She joined Grace Garden in July 2018 and soon put her 5 years of experience to good use.

Karly

Karly

Miss Karly was born and raised in Hong Kong. Whilst originally an accounting student, her love for children emerged during a Canadian Summer exchange in which she taught local children the piano. Upon her return to hong Kong, she began working at a local kindergarten and is now currently completing her postgraduate diploma in Early Childhood Education. Miss Karly aims to be a fully- qualified kindergarten teacher in the very-near future.

Connie

Miss Connie graduated at Open University with Higher Diploma in Early Childhood and joined Grace Garden as our teaching assistant. She was a kindergarten teacher in an international kindergarten for two years and is now studying Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Early Childhood Education. She is keen and devoted on teaching and bonding with young children, along with cultivating a stimulating environment for students.

Jackie

Jackie

Miss Jackie is of Filipino and Chinese descent. She moved to Hong Kong with her mother when she was 15 years old. Her teaching career began in 2008 at one of Hong Kong’s international kindergartens and since then has taught in a variety of roles from teacher assistant to playgroup and kindergarten teacher. With her rich teaching experience, she’s determined to make a difference in her learner’s early childhood education.

  • Ms. Ginny Humpage
    Ms. Ginny Humpage

    As our EFYS/LOC consultant, Ginny’s early years’ education experience spans over 27 years. Some of her achievements include being awarded the Rutland Prize in 2012, and being a founding member of the British International School in Washington. Currently her work revolves around her Doctorate in Education, with a focus on implementing progressive early years education in Hong Kong and Greater China.

    Ms. Karen Yuen

    As our Principal, Karen has over 10 years of experience in the education sector. She is a registered and certified kindergarten principal and is PGDE qualified, with degrees from the University of British Columbia, Canada, and Hong Kong Baptist University.

  • Mr. Liam Murphy
    Mr. Liam Murphy

    Liam Murphy, our Director of Studies, is a British ESL instructor with more than five years’ experience across Asia as an English teacher and also as a teacher trainer. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Surrey, England, and a CELTA qualification.
